Brennan Johnson couldn’t hide his emotions after scoring the decisive goal in Tottenham’s Europa League final victory over Manchester United. Speaking to TNT Sports after the match, the Spurs forward reflected on the significance of the win and the rollercoaster season that led to this moment.

"I'm over the moon right now," Johnson said. "The season hasn't gone the way we wanted in the league, but none of that matters at the moment. This is what it's all about."

The 1-0 win in Bilbao brought an end to Tottenham’s 17-year wait for silverware, and Johnson was proud to help change the narrative that has long haunted the club.

"People have always said Spurs are a good side but never finish the job. Well, we did it tonight," he added. "The fans and the players have taken so much criticism for not winning trophies, so to finally deliver one means everything."

Johnson also described the surreal moment of scoring the match-winner.

"I knew I got a touch on it, and when I looked up and saw it rolling into the net, I honestly can’t put that feeling into words," he said. "The last few minutes were torture. I couldn’t even watch. I kept asking the lads how long was left. When we cleared that final corner, I felt the relief hit me. It’s hard to describe."

Despite a poor Premier League campaign, where Spurs currently sit 17th with one game to go, Johnson pointed to their Europa League form and fan support as a major highlight.

"Our league form hasn’t been good enough, no question. But the Europa League has been something special, and the fans have been incredible," he said. "To be honest, I think they out-sang the United fans tonight. They pushed us over the line."

The Welshman also praised manager Ange Postecoglou for the belief he instilled in the team throughout their European campaign.

"The manager deserves huge credit. He really got us fired up for these games and trusted us, especially in Europe," Johnson said. "If ever there was a mic-drop moment, this is it. I can't wait to see what he says in his interview."
